Oh Balls! No really Football is ON!!!!!

To celebrate the start of the 2010 -2011 NFL season I give you

The First Annual Hottest Quarterback Bracket

Sorry, but you will have to follow the link below to see the bracket
(I am still learning how to work all the
fancy parts of my beloved blog)

In honor of the 2011-2012 Football season I will be doing a round a week, following the preseason schedule.
There was a "pre-bracket" round, in which I had a "face" off between possible starting quarterback. This is why there are QBs missing from the first round.

The pre-bracketing competition was as follows:
David Garrard vs Blaine Gabbert
Matt Hasselbeck vs Jake Locker
Kyle Orton vs Tim Tebow
Michael Vick vs Vince Young
John Beck vs Rex Grossman
Donivan McNabb vs Christian Ponder
Cam Newton vs Jimmy Clausen
Tavaris Jackson vs Charlie Whitehurst

A reminder: This bracket is strictly based on MY opinion, there is no actual research into playing skills or lifestyle involved.
HOORAY FOR FOOTBALL!!

Love,
J

TALK TALK TALK

The talk continues! Fans hope that the two sides will get together and end the lock out. There is very little news about anything other than talk.

Dear NFL....I am so bored of this, please play the game!

I am thinking that I am going to have to create my own football fun. In the works are the best (looking ) quarterback ranking by team and other equally awesome things.

The Draft Has Passed

So the draft happened and Commissioner Roger Goodell was booed quite a bit. Things are going with the NFL, going well I am not so sure but they are going.

Young men were chosen to join teams that may not even play.

There is so much unknown......all I know is that I want Football.

Also I am supremely jealous of my dad who has satellite radio, so isn't forced to listen to the most IQ damaging sports talk show on the radio today.

I want football! Thank you!

It Is Pathetic Really.....

My inablility to put words on this blog is sad. I love football and this season has been so very interesing. Regardless of what occurs with the collective barganing agreement, 2011 will be my year to blog about the ball!

Also, my picks in the playoffs sucked! I am looking forward to seeing the Sanchize and Big Ben fight it out this weekend. Although I do believe that Mark Sanchez is probably the best looking player in the league, I don't have a clear winner for this one. In the other game I am pulling for the Pack.

I Don't Watch College Football.................

I don't like college football, even when I was in college I didn't go to games. I would rather sleep while my noisy neighbors were gone.
Today I am watching college football (and doing laundry), Texas vs Oklahoma. For some reason I am fascinate by Sam Bradford, Colt McCoy and Tim Tebow. These three guys seem like stand up fellows. I don't know for sure but that is what I choose to believe.
When Tebow was injured I searched the internet constantly for updates on his condition. I watched and rewatched him going down, and being carted off the field throwing up. I was relieved to read that he would be alright.

Today a team from city I love (Austin) headed out to face their rivals, and come out victorious as the end result would have it (the game just ended Oklahoma 13, Texas 16).
Colt McCoy and Sam Bradford are hugging as I type. I don't know what it is, I adore these 3 guys.

I was watching when Bradford hit the ground, driving his freshly healed broken shoulder into the ground. He didn't play again after that. As the mother of a young athletic boy who is built for football I realized in that moment why I don't watch college football.

However I do watch NFL, where men are paid to play the game. If they get hurt it was in the commission of earning a paycheck.
I love the NY Giants and I love Jeremy Shockey, which makes tomorrows game something that I am looking forward to with much anticipation.

When Shockey broke his leg on Dec. 16th 2007 I was heartbroken. After that things seemed to spiral down for the man. His replacement the amazing Kevin Boss did a great job proving he deserved a starting Tight End position. That year the Giants won the Superbowl. Shock was there, but only in body. In his heart he was already gone.

He was traded to the New Orleans Saints. His first season with the Saints was plagued with injury. This year however is appears that Shock has done some growing up and he is back looking better than ever. His attitude has either changed, or he has learned to keep his mouth shut (although I must admit I adore his lisp). In New Orleans is appears that Jeremy has found his place, and with Drew Brees as your QB things are good.

Tomorrow Shock meets his old team. He is keeping a low profile, and I for one can not wait.

He has said that this is not a grudge match for him, and I believe him. If it had been last year maybe, but after a year in a new place he seems much more settled.

I love Eli and the Giants, and I am rooting for them to win as I always do. However I certainly hope that the Saints do all they can, in particular Shockey.
